Link Brother TD-4550DNBW printer with Andy via Bluetooth
This article explains the process of linking the Brother TD-4550DNWB printer with an Android and iOS device.
In this article, two one-minute explanatory videos are first shown on how to link the printer depending on whether the device is Android or iOS (the only difference between both systems is the Bluetooth menu). Afterwards, the steps to follow are detailed.
Before starting the process, please refer to this article to find out which printers are approved for labeling with Andy.
Enable Bluetooth mode on the printer From the printer itself, make sure that Bluetooth mode is enabled. Follow the steps below to activate it:
Enable classic Bluetooth mode
1. On the printer, press Menu
2. Select Bluetooth > Mode > Classic
3. Enter the PIN to pair the printer. The PIN is the last 4 digits of the name displayed as “TD-4550DNWB_XXXX”.
Pair the printer with Android and iOS devices
1. Go to Settings > Bluetooth
2. Search for available devices and select your printer model.
3. Enter the PIN to pair the printer. The PIN corresponds to the last 4 digits of the name displayed as “TD-4550DNWB_XXXX”.
If no name appears in this format, enter the last 4 digits of the printer’s serial number.
Link Brother printer with Andy
If you access the Labeling tool for the first time without having configured it, you will see the message: “The printer is not yet configured”. Click on “Let’s do it” and you will be taken to the Printer Settings section.
From the main menu, go to Settings > Printer and:
1. Select the printer model you are using
2. From the list of Bluetooth-linked devices, select your printer model.
3. Assign a name to the printer (optional).
4. Click Save.
Due to a limitation of the Bluetooth system on iOS, if you want to print from an Android device, you must first disable Bluetooth on the linked iOS device in Settings > Bluetooth > Disable. When you want to print again with iOS, enable Bluetooth and you’re ready to go!
Your printer is now linked to Andy and you can start labeling!
